Formulas - How to set a default value to a field?

The DEFAULT VALUE formula can be used to set a default value to an empty field.

For example, you have both the First and Last Name fields in your Facebook Lead Ads Form. Let’s say that the lead has to insert John (as the first name) and Doe (as the last name), but they have only inserted their first name (John). If your CRM still requires the Last Name (Doe) to be populated, you should use this function.

  1. Head over to the Fields Mapping step of your bridge
  2. Switch to editing mode on the top right
  3. Click on three dots near the field that you want to assign the function (Last Name in our example)
  4. Select the Add formula section and UTILS>>DEFAULT VALUE formula
  5. From the drop-down menu under Field, select the Last Name field
  6. On the Default value box, you can assign a value that will be used in case the field (Last Name) is empty, like None in our example
  7. Click on Confirm and Save&publish to save your changes

IMPORTANT: The default value is mapped ONLY if the lead didn’t add it when submitting the form.
