How Double Opt-In Works with Mailchimp and LeadsBridge

Mailchimp offers two opt-in processes for email and SMS: single opt-in and double opt-in. Both methods collect contact information to help you grow your audience. However, double opt-in adds an extra confirmation step to verify each email address or phone number.

Please Note that the Double opt-in is a feature exclusively managed by Mailchimp. LeadsBridge does not have its own double opt-in process.

When configuring a Mailchimp integration in LeadsBridge, you may see a “Double opt-in” option. This option simply tells LeadsBridge to respect the double opt-in setting already configured in your Mailchimp account.

How it Works

If double opt-in is enabled in your Mailchimp list, LeadsBridge will sync new subscribers to Mailchimp. However, these subscribers will not be fully added to your Mailchimp audience until they click the confirmation link in the double opt-in email or SMS message sent by Mailchimp.

Testing Considerations

When testing your LeadsBridge integration with Mailchimp, it’s crucial to be aware of your double opt-in settings in Mailchimp. If double opt-in is enabled, test leads synced by LeadsBridge will not appear in your audience until they complete the confirmation process. This can lead to confusion during testing if not accounted for.
