LeadsBridge natively supports Facebook’s Dynamic Lead Ads for Automotive. It’s possible to build a Bridge with Dynamic Ads in a few steps.
What are Dynamic Ads?
Dynamic Ads for automotive enable advertisers to upload the entire inventory of vehicles (product catalog), including relevant details for each vehicle (make, model, year, location, trim, vehicle state, pricing, and other relevant details).
It then automatically generates ads for each vehicle to drive potential auto buyers to take action (lead form submission, vehicle detail page, etc.)
You don’t need to create each ad separately. Just set up the campaign, and Facebook’s Dynamic Ads will do the rest, promoting your entire inventory of vehicles on Facebook and Instagram (depending on the ad placement you choose).
How does it work?
Combining Dynamic Ads with the effectiveness of Facebook Lead Ads, you can set up a powerful lead generation machine that enables you to collect targeted leads, displaying a lead gen form when someone clicks on an item.
Dynamic Ads for Automotive are fully compatible with the Facebook Pixel/SDK and Custom Audiences, which enable you to show relevant items to targeted potential auto buyers who’ve already shown an interest in your business.
Retailer Item ID
Along with your Dynamic Lead Ads, there is the Retailer Item ID information. This is the dynamic value that will help you recognize which car (or product) your leads have signed up for.
Note: To retrieve the Retailer Item ID along with the lead information, you need to collect at least one lead with your Dynamic Ads.
LeadsBridge will then show the Retailer Item ID field that can be matched with the vehicle VIN.
How to map the vehicle information?
To map vehicle details such as make, model, year, location, trim, vehicle state, pricing, etc… First, you should get the spreadsheet URL you’ve linked in your Facebook Catalog.
- Go to Facebook Business Manager > Commerce Manager, or click here.
- Select the Catalog you wish to connect
- On the left sidebar, click on Data Sources and select the data source name under the Name column
4. Once done, go to Settings
5. In the Schedules area, copy the URL address. The URL address must be connected to a publiconline document, such as a Google Sheets or spreadsheet file
Once you have the spreadsheet URL linked in your Facebook Catalog, you are ready to map the vehicle fields.
- Go into the Fields mapping step of your bridge
- From the custom field drop-down at the bottom of the page, search for the field(s) you want to add *(*vehicle >> make, vehicle >>model,…)
- Then click on the m ap this field button
- Click in the custom field you just added and search for the formula UTILS » VALUE LOOKUP FROM CSV
- Map the formulafields as follows:
- Field: select the field name that we will use as a reference to find the custom field inside the spreadsheet. Usually, the column that contains your vehicle ID, for example, the Retailer Item ID
- Csv: paste the spreadsheet URL you got at the beginning of these guidelines
- Input: type the name of the column that contains the value you selected inside the Field drop-down; for example, the column that contains the Retailer Item ID could be called vehicle_id
- Output: type the column’s name that contains the value you want to map on this field; for example, the column that contains the Vehicle Make could be called make
- Once done, click on Confirm
Repeat the above steps for each vehicle information (make, model, year, location, trim, vehicle state, pricing, etc…) Once you’ve finished adding and mapping all the fields, click Next to save changes.
Note: The following guideline is made for Dynamic Ads that use Scheduled Updates as the data source. If this is not your case, we strongly recommend you download this sample template from Facebook and follow Facebook documentation.
Common Questions
How to send a test lead from your Dynamic Ads?
If you haven’t collected leads yet, you can go to your Facebook Ads Manager and send a test lead from Facebook Form by using the share URL Form link: Ads >> Ad >> Preview >> Share a Link.
Once finished, copy the link that appears on the Share this Ad tab and create the test lead by completing the data in the Form.
You will be able to see the Retailer Item ID field available on your LeadsBridge’s settings.
Why I’m not getting the vehicle information from old leads?
Some leads might come in without vehicle information. This means that the vehicle has been removed from the CSV file used to create the Dynamic Ads on Facebook.
When opening the Leads Table , the lead information gets dynamically retrieved from Facebook in real time. If the vehicle information has been removed from Facebook, it won’t be visible on LeadsBridge.
For example, you might have Dynamic Ads on used cars; once one of those cars is sold, it will be removed from the CSV file to withdraw that specific car Ad. If, after the car was removed from the CSV file, you search for the leads related to that car in LeadsBridge*,* you won’t be able to see some of the vehicle information since this information has been removed from Facebook.
Is there an easier way to integrate with Facebook Automotive Ads?
If you are using Facebook Automotive Ads, you can reach out to the Support team to enable it for you. This option allows to create the bridge with an easier configuration.
How to convert Facebook Retailer ID (VIN) to Stock, Make, Model and Year?
If you need to send vehicle data (Stock, Make, Model, Year) to your automotive CRM but only have the VIN (Retailer Item ID), you can contact our Support team to enable the Facebook Automotive Ads feature for you, which allows for a standard bridge configuration, or use our CSV mapping feature.
Here’s how it works:
1. Prepare your CSV file: Create a CSV file that lists the relationships between VIN, Stock, Make, Model, and Year. Make sure this file is accessible online (most CRMs have this functionality).
Here’s an example of how the CSV file should look:
2. Use the VALUE LOOKUP FROM CSV function: In your LeadsBridge bridge, use this function to map the vehicle fields from your Facebook catalog.
For example, to map the VIN to the stock number:
- In the LeadsBridge field mapping section, select the UTILS » VALUE LOOKUP FROM CSV function.
- Enter the URL of your CSV file.
- Set “VIN” as the “Lookup Column.”
- Set “Stock” as the “Output Column.”
Repeat for other fields: Repeat this process for Make, Model, and Year, using the corresponding output columns from your CSV file.
Need Access to Your Facebook Catalog?
If you don’t have the necessary permissions (“Manage catalog” or “Create ads”) for the Facebook catalog, you’ll need to request access from the Business Account owner. They can grant you access by following these steps.
