Summary:
This guide explains how to resolve the “Invalid/Error in Dealer Code” error when using the ProMax integration in LeadsBridge, including common causes, field-mapping issues, and how ProMax fields work.

“Invalid/Error in Dealer Code” Error

If you receive the “Invalid/Error in Dealer Code” message, follow these steps:

Step 1 – Verify the Dealer Code

  1. Confirm that the Dealer Code entered in the Bridge settings is correct.
  2. Ensure there are no extra spaces or formatting issues.

Step 2 – Confirm Lead Source Configuration in ProMax

  1. Verify that LeadsBridge is configured as a Lead Source in your ProMax account.
  2. If needed, contact ProMax Support to confirm this setting is enabled.

Expected Result:
Once the Dealer Code is valid and LeadsBridge is enabled as a Lead Source, the error is resolved.

Same Dealer Code Works for One Bridge but Not Another

If the same ProMax integration works in one Bridge but fails in another, the issue is usually related to field mappings.

What to Check

  1. Open the affected Bridge.
  2. Review the Field Mapping section.
  3. Ensure the following field is not manually mapped:
    • ProMax → provider → name [part=full]

This field should not be mapped to:

  • Company name
  • Any other source field
  • Any static or dynamic value

Important Field Mapping Rule

For leads to sync correctly, the field:

  • provider → name [part=full]

must have the value “LeadsBridge.”

Important:
This value is automatically sent by the LeadsBridge integration.
You should not map or override this field in your Bridge configuration.

Expected Result:
Leaving this field unmapped ensures consistent behavior across all Bridges using the same ProMax integration.

What Are ProMax Fields?

ProMax uses a set of system-specific fields, sometimes referred to as CarDotCom fields due to their association with the CarDotCom section.

How to Identify ProMax Fields in LeadsBridge

  • ProMax fields appear in the Field Mapping section.
  • They are prefixed with ProMax ››.
  • They are listed alongside ADF fields.

These fields are used to correctly structure and route lead data into ProMax.
